The ABC’s of Salvation

The secret to becoming a Christian is really no secret at all. 

All you need to know is your ABC’s.

A – Admit

Admit to God that you are a sinner.  Ask Him to forgive your sins.

Sin is doing anything God does not want you to do.  Sin is doing things like talking back to your mother or hurting someone or taking something that does not belong to you.  God made the rules and we must obey them.  The problem is that everyone has sinned.  God wants you to tell Him that you are sorry for your sins.  The says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins” – I  John 1:9

B – Believe

Believe that Jesus died on the Cross to take the punishment for your sins 

and accept God’s gift of forgiveness.

God is so holy, so pure, and so wonderful that He cannot have sin come near Him.  God cannot let anyone into Heaven who has sinned.  Remember the problem?  Yes, everyone has sinned.  But God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to take the punishment for your sins.  God wants you to believe that He loves you so much He sent Jesus to die on the Cross for you.  The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have everlasting life” – John 3:16

C- Confess

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, 

then call on Him and ask to be saved.

How can you call Jesus?  You can pray to Him.  Tell Him you are sorry for your sins.  Tell Him thank You for sending Jesus for you.  Tell Him that you want Him to save you right now.  Just like that, God will save you.  The Bible says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” – Acts 2:21
